What is PRP Platelet Rich Plasma?
PRP is a blood product we create from a sample of your own blood. It contains a concentrated source of platelets and growth factors that speed up healing and stimulate your body’s production of collagen, a protein that makes your skin strong and pliable.
To make the PRP for your PRP Facial, we draw a sample of blood from your arm. We then place the blood in a centrifuge, which separates the solid platelets and growth factors from the liquid portion of your blood.
What is the PRP Facial?
The PRP Facial is a popular, minimally invasive cosmetic treatment used to rejuvenate your skin. After creating your PRP, we use a micro-needling tool to poke tiny holes in your skin. The micro-needling slightly injures the skin to stimulate natural healing. After micro-needling, we apply the PRP to your face to maximize the healing and rejuvenation with the platelets and growth factors.
You may notice a significant improvement in the look and feel of your skin immediately following treatment. However, it may take two to three months for you to see the full benefits of the PRP Facial.
Does the PRP Facial reduce wrinkles?
Yes, the PRP Facial minimizes the appearance of lines and wrinkles on your face. It also improves the tone and texture of your skin for more even coloring and a youthful look.
Combining PRP with micro-needling also reduces the appearance of acne scars by assisting in the regeneration of new skin to replace the scar tissue.
How do I care for my skin after a PRP Facial?
We recommend you protect your skin from the sun by using sunblock daily and covering up with a hat or sunglasses as needed. With good care, results of the PRP Facial can last a year or longer.
